According to the official press release of Binibining Pilinas Charities, Inc., San Miguel cited as reason for her decision was the recent death of his grandfather.
As with BCPI’s rules and regulations, 1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño will have to replace San Miguel as the official Philippine representative for the Ms. World 2008 in Johannesburg.
